THK BLENDED FINANCE PLATFORM
THK Blended Finance Platform is a neutral, multi-stakeholder platform that engages and connects alternative viewpoints, and facilitates a comprehensive approach to disseminating best practices across the blended finance ecosystem.
Our purpose is to act as a platform for exchange of ideas, views, and information on blended finance, and ultimately contribute to achieving development impact by mobilizing additional private investment to SDG projects through blended finance solutions.
Our vision is to become a policy interface between global actors in blended finance ensuring the development of innovative blended finance solutions produced by actors that constitute the full global blended finance ecosystem.
2018
Responding to the need for a unified multilateral framework to advance blended finance outcomes, the THK Roadmap for Blended Finance is launched on the sidelines of the 2018 World Bank Annual Meeting in Bali, Indonesia. A value driven international framework is jointly developed to enable stakeholders to act coherently and to reinforce their actions at the policy and operational levels.
2019
Capitalizing on the strength of a unified, multi-stakeholder approach, five action areas are identified to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in the use and scaling up of blended finance operations – Practice, Mobilisation, Inclusive Markets, Transparency and Impact. Working groups are created around each of the five values and their corresponding action areas and begin to compile research and insights.
2020
THK working groups release guidance materials including recommendations to advance blended finance in the five action areas. Meetings bring together stakeholders from all over the world, including donor agencies, DFIs, MDBs, CSOs, philanthropic foundations, private sector stakeholders and impact investment communities – a testimony to the interest in blended finance at the international level.
2021
The THK Roadmap becomes the THK Blended Finance Platform, continuing to offer a unique forum that convenes a variety of stakeholders in blended finance. The exchange of innovative ideas, views and information and the movement towards common values, principles and understandings of good practices in blended finance globally are recognised as a unique value added of the THK Platform.
